Trade Remedy Measures Update

The Directorate General of Trade Remedies, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recently undertaken the following actions concerning trade remedy measures.

• March 2, 2020- Following our Update on India’s initiation of an Anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of Soda Ash from Turkey and USA, DGTR has also simultaneously initiated a Countervailing Duty/Anti-Subsidy Investigation concerning imports of “Soda Ash” originating in or exported from Turkey.
• February 28, 2020- Initiation of Second Sunset Review investigation concerning imports of “Plain Medium Density Fibre Board” originating in or exported from China PR, Malaysia, Thailand & Sri Lanka.
• February 28, 2020- Final Findings issued in Bilateral Safeguard investigation concerning imports of “Refined Bleached Deodorised Palmolein and Refined Bleached Deodorised Palm Oil” into India from Malaysia under the India-Malaysia Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (Bilateral Safeguard Measures) Rules, 2017.
