A. Issuance of policy on re-validation of export authorizations for Tech Transfer
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade vide Trade Notice No. 26/2020-21 dated August 31, 2020 has issued a policy on re-validation of export authorizations for technology/ software
SCOMET items. Since transfer of technology/ software items in the SCOMET list is an ongoing process and cannot be quantified in terms of item or value of export, revalidation of export
authorizations issued for the transfer of technology/software need not be considered and the validity period for such export authorizations under any category of SCOMET shall be twentyfour months. Further, with respect to the export authorization involving technology transfer under any category of SCOMET expiring by September 30, 2020, DGFT has decided to grant one extension of six months as a one-time relief on submission of application in prescribed proforma to DGFT.

Trade Remedy Measures Update
The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recently undertaken the following measures concerning trade remedy investigations.
• August 28, 2020- Initiation notification issued in sunset review of anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of “2-Ethyl Hexanol” from European Union, Indonesia,
Korea RP, Malaysia, Taiwan and United States of America.
• August 31, 2020- Initiation notification issued in sunset review of anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of “Normal Butanol” from European Union, Malaysia,
Singapore, South Africa and United States of America.
